The Department of Human Rights started its journey in July, 2012 with the objectives of dissemination of knowledge of Human Rights among the students, pertaining the students in acquiring the objective knowledge regarding historical account of movements around the world to acquire basic rights for human society, to understand and evaluate the problems that plague the present day polity and society and to suggest possible remedies through the concept of human rights in different dimension. Moreover, we want to create among the students an awareness regarding the traditional jurisprudential perspectives of human rights and discoveries posing serious challenges to human rights among the cross section of the people. The Departmental Library has been enriched with 500 books. As a part of extension activity, the Department celebrates Human Rights day on 10th December every year by organizing seminar and competitions among students.
